How SnoopScout handles your data

We collect only the information necessary to provide shop risk checks and operate the service reliably.

What we collect

  • • Domain URLs you submit for scan checks.
  • • Scan results and signals generated for requested domains.
  • • IP addresses (stored in hashed/pseudonymized form) used for rate limiting and abuse prevention.

How we use it

We use submitted domains and scan results to generate automated risk checks. Hashed IP data is used solely to enforce rate limits and protect the service from abuse.

Data sharing

We do not sell your data. Data may be processed by trusted service providers required to operate the service (e.g. hosting and infrastructure providers).

Technical Data Collection

When you scan a domain, SnoopScout collects publicly available technical information about that domain including: technology stack, tracking identifiers visible in public HTML, SSL certificate data, DNS records, and hosting information. This data is used solely for security analysis and scam detection purposes.

Automated processing

Some processing may involve automated analysis using external services. Only non-personal technical data is transmitted for this purpose.

Data retention

Data is retained only for as long as necessary to operate the service and ensure its security.

GDPR compliance

We process personal data in accordance with applicable data protection laws, including the GDPR. For full details, see our Datenschutzerklärung.

Usage analytics

We collect anonymized usage events (such as page views, button clicks, and checkout detection) to improve our service and understand how users interact with SnoopScout. No personal data is stored. Events are associated with domain names only and help us identify and fix issues, improve user experience, and detect security patterns.

Note

SnoopScout is an informational service only. Users are responsible for their own decisions and should independently verify information where necessary.
